Marie Wants to be Free
45' (GER, ENG subs)
For almost ten years a camera-team have accompanied Marie, who has the Down Syndrome, and her family - from primary school to puberty, from her first love to the struggle to find a job.
Since the age of 16 Marie has a very exact idea of what she wants to be. She wants a baby, a family of her own and she wants to work as a teacher. Normal plans for normal teenagers, but not for Marie. She has the Down Syndrome. Her parents adopted Marie and her younger sister Lilly as babies. Lilly also has Down Syndrome. Some friends and relatives did not understand why the couple wanted to adopt two handicapped children. Does Marie manage to live and independently and to be free?
