The 2nd part of the documentary series about the road motorcyclists takes us to the Northwest 200 in Ireland - one of the fastest road races in the world. The documentary follows the protagonists around the clock, explores their inner conflicts, recognize their deepest fears, their motivations, and their need for speed. Every race test our hope that all the racers return alive. Their fears and adventures are ours - they are modern day gladiators.
Extreme weather changes, heavy rain and strong winds challenge the riders to overcome their greatest fears and push them to their limits. One of the racers says “It feels like sitting on a cannonball when you hit the road with more than 300 km per hour!”
We follow the underdog-team Heidger Motorsport that competes like “Asterix & Obelix” against the "big teams" in the IRRS scene like Tyco BMW with the legends Guy martin, William Dunlop and Alistair Seeley. Independent Filmmaker Andreas Knuffmann explores the inner life of his heroes and reflects their greatest fears, their soulful secrets, constraints and their addiction to speed. “You must live for the moment, you never know what´s around the corner”– At the end of every race is the hope that all racers return safe and sound from the biggest adventure of their Life - in the style of modern gladiators.
