Unfolding the artist’s geometry and code as well as investigating the complex myths that revolve around his life and work is the central thread of this documentary: a detective story uncovering.
Barcelona, the beginning of the 20th century. A well-known Catalan architect commences designing and building the most renowned church of the world: the Basilica and Expiatory Church of the Holy Family, Basílica y Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia.
Antoni Gaudí wants to build the “wonder of the world for the poor”, the completion and perfection of the medieval cathedral in the 20th century, a house of prayer made from light, sound and organic forms, 170 metres high. Today, almost 100 years after his death, experts are convinced that Gaudí was a mathematical genius.
Architects, mathematicians, and engineers are still trying to detect and understand the Gaudi Code and discover the secrets of the man caught between genius and madness, prosperity and poverty, decadence, stone masonry and profound religious faith.
