Born in a Concentration Camp

45' (ENG, GER)
Among the more than 30,000 liberated camp prisoners, soldiers found to their great surprise seven Jewish mothers with their babies.

The soldiers photographed what they could not believe: infants, who were born in the Dachau concentration camp - and who had survived amidst the Holocaust. One of the seven babies is the now 65 year old Marika Nováková. 1.5 million Jewish children were murdered by the Nazis. How was it possible that she was born in a concentration camp and survived there?

For a long time, her mother did not tell her where Kaufering was and why she was born there. But then, a letter from Canada arrived from Miriam Rosenthal, another mother who had a child at Kaufering. Finally, Marika's mother tells her daughter the story, and Miriam Rosenthal also recounts her own Holocaust experience: how young they were when they were deported, how they tried to hide their pregnancies and how over and again they avoided discovery.
