These Damned Hours in the Evening – The Whorehouse in the Concentration Camps

One of the most contemptuous crimes against humanity by the Nazis was forcing women in concentration camps to prostitute themselves. The women, who were made available to male inmates as a ‘bonus’ for hard work, mostly kept quiet about their ordeal after the war, out of shame. But shortly before her death, one victim tells her story in this film. It also features testimonies from some of the men involved, including the heartrending tale of a love affair in Auschwitz.
