Mothers Fighting Jihad

52' (ENG), 45' (GER)
Islamic radical extremism is a threat that destabilises wide regions and endangers the whole world. This documentary takes a female point of view.

We are focusing on the females who have lost their children, husbands or siblings. To prevent others from suffering the same fate, Edit Schlaffer, founder of “Women without borders”, is building a network of “Mothers Schools” in Asia, Africa and Europe. A family-centred security platform that strengthens existing counter violent extremism approaches by engaging mothers as security allies.

The documentary features women in Indonesia which has the largest Muslim society in the world. The country has been struck by violent attacks such as “the Bali bombing” and the assaults in Jakarta. In the documentary women in Kashmir talk about the numerous riots and clashes in their country which are fought between India and Pakistan.
